Wine Cellar

I designed this space for a private wine enthusiast to hold his big wine collection. I wanted to transform a whole wall into an library of wine bottles by creating custom made wine racks made out of brass sheets seemingly floating on a metal structure. I wanted to use brass as the material for this wall because it reflects the aging quality of the wine it holds, and just as the wine, the brass pieces gain character in time by oxidation. I wanted the wall of wine racks to have these golden rhythmic repetition as a way to give this wine cellar a sense of order and preciousness.
